Adult Clinic Services  


This program continues to provide services for adult clients with serious mental illness, who are not eligible for the Public Mental Health System (PHMS) due to language, lack of entitlements, non-citizen status or the experience of treatment failure in the PHMS, and clients most in need, those discharged from a psychiatric hospital, the Crisis Center or Jail. All clients are referred by the Access to Behavioral Health Services team.

Client Demographics

Currently clients from 41 countries who speak many languages such as Spanish, Vitenamese, Thai, Chinese, Eritrean, French, Nepalese, Amharic, and Portuguese are treated in the Adult Behavioral Health Program. Approximately 20-30% of the clients are undocumented, 48-50% ae Spanish speaking and 25% are Vietnamese speaking. 12% of the clients are African immigrants.
