Inclusion criteria:

• Male or female outpatients 18- 65 years old.
• The patient has a primary diagnosis of schizophrenia and is mildly ill.
• Has been on a stable dose of either Olanzapine or Risperidone for at east 3 months.
• Has been 3 months or more from the last hospitalization or exacerbation of schizophrenia.
• Has a triglyceride level >130 mg./dL.
• Body Mass Index (BMI)>27,kg/m.

Exclusion criteria:

• Has a primary diagnosis other than schizophrenia.
• History of seizure disorder.
• Have a history of substance abuse or dependency within the past 6 months.
